Die Story hinter diaspora* ist schnell erzählt. Einige Geeks rund um Maxwell Salzberg entwickeln in einem Open-Source-Projekt einen „besseren Weg zum Teilen der Daten via Social Media“. Die Idee war schnell geboren, die Finanzierung ließ sich via Crowdfunding stemmen.

Worum ging es dann in dem Vortrag? Über zehn Punkte, die Maxwell Salzberg im Rahmen des Projektes gelernt hat und die wir für unsere Projekte anwenden können:

1. find something you love. do that.
2. start with the simplest thing that work. start with a solution that works. don’t be afraid to try something ‚dump‘.
3. make stuff that reflects the world you want to live in.
4. you already know the best people you will ever met.
5. ideas are dime a dozen. give one away and think of ten more. the best idea you ever had is the one your friends are also excited about.
6. release early and often.
7. have fun with what you are doing.
8. the way to make awesome stuff: don’t go out on fridays night.
9. share the love! – to inspire people.
10. you can’t be afraid to fail.
